We All Have Our Days…

Hey Loves,

Current time 1:45 a.m. and i’m realizing I haven’t went on a rant in a while. The summer is finally here, yitadeee lol, although summer classes begin and i’m currently working two jobs to accommodate for my summer itinerary and rent in a city i’m currently not residing in *rolling my eyes* i still can’t help but enjoy the presence of being home. The peace that accommodates being back in the city has truly turned the past two weeks in a complete 360. I know many can agree when i say that sometimes you just have those off days or even week when your stress level is heightened and all you want to do is indulge yourself in fresh clean sheets, a cracked window which allows for the summer breeze to fill your room and a great movie to pass the time with a glass of your favorite wine. We all have our moments where we crave our own space and solitude, for myself it’s an opportunity to indulge in self and pick up a journal.

What I realized (the stated obvious)…We are all human, no every day’s the same. Here are some tips on how I got out of my manic (just kidding) semi crazed/stressed state 🙂 and how you can get over those down days. If you have any of your own tips, please share…enjoy!

Need for INSPIRATION: [The easiest] If you have a tumblr account or pintrest, also intagram can help. I’m a tumblr junkie and most of the content in my photo album are currently snapshots of inspirational looks, celebrities, and mostly great quotes! What inspires me most to get off my ass are the [How to Ab Workouts] & straight to the gym I go. I also enjoy the artsy post. These all inspire me to open my journal and write.

Find a GREAT FLICK:  We all have our differences in opinion as far as what is funny or appropriate at moments when we are feeling down. Personally, I enjoy the classic’s: Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sex and the City [all seasons now FINALLY available on HBO Go], Clueless and most recent, Lagerfeld Confidential, and Moulin Rouge. Yes, the classic chic flicks *shrugs* Pick up a red box, order in, get comfortable and enjoy 🙂  below: Lagerfeld Confidential follows him around Paris & gives us an insight into what it’s like to be Karl. I think this one minute trailer says it all…

Get up off YOUR ASS: Self Explanatory. When you look great, you feel great. Staying in your room gets old, depressing and boring. It’s summer and there’s so much to do! Yesterday I set my alarm for 9am, texted a friend and drove to Hoover Dam [no not the one in wherever it is lol] Hoover Dam, Columbus Ohio. I get bored running on a treadmill so get up off your ass and take a walk or job on a scenic route! Download Nike plus app, grab a bottle of water and get too it! We started light. Two runs back and forth with 25 squats and lunges in between then finished off with running up Hoovers 96 step challenge, TWICE. Later on decided in completing our 30 minute workout with a routined ab workout. Here it is below:

Make plans with your FRIENDS: OK, I get it. Sometimes you need ya alone time but it can’t hurt to text a friend and go to your favorite bar to grab a drink, or two!* I’m known for being the planner in my group. Museums, Art galleries, festivals and even sport events! Take some initiative and plan a girls day. Even create itineraries if you’re up for it. These next upcoming weeks i’ve planned a trip to the Crew (Soccer) Game, a Clippers (Baseball) Game, Latin night [YES!] at the botanical garden and looked up a great Thai restaurant to visit during their discounted happy hour schedules. Too stressed and don’t know where to begin? I simply typed my city in the search box, looked for upcoming events and wrote it down into my summer to-do’s. Why not make the most out of the summer? Short on cash, stay in! Red box, Chinese and your closets girlfriends. What more could you ask for?! If you are in the Columbus area try this: UPCOMING EVENTS

Indulge in FEEL GOOD PRODUCTSAlthough I recently dedicated my skin care ‘must haves’ to The Body Shop, now that I am back in Columbus and LUSH is here at my own disposal i couldn’t help myself. I always feel better when I indulge my money in products that instantly work! Smell good and are cheap! I recently spent my afternoon at LUSH experimenting on different products — they purposely have sinks and bowls for you to try their products. You come in, try something and leave with a large purchase or with you hands smelling awesome and feeling silky 🙂 Aside from buying feel good fragranced candles from the store across the street, here are my favorites as of right now: Tea Tree Water:Toner Water [Brightens Skin] 8.4 fl. oz. $21.95,  Celestial: Gentle Moisturizer [With Summer this reduces redness, stinging with sensitive skin] 1.5 OZ. $24.95, and Aqua Marina: Gentle Exfoliant [For sensitive skin, mineral rich nori-seaweed w/ sea salt to sooth skin] 3.5 oz. $12.95.

Good MUSIC!: Music is my go to! I have a playlist for any occasion. My suggestion, make yourself one. Currently I have a feel good, turn-up (slightly) playlist i’ll sure with you via my sound cloud. Most of the songs made it to this playlist because of a specific memory i have associated with the first time i heard it. Every song has a memory embedded into it, to feel good you just have to find which one clicks 🙂 Enjoy…
